Dance like no one is watching

I have started participating in a monthly photography contest over at Rock The Shot. It’s a great way to work on my photography skills and be inspired by all of the other amazing images submitted. This months theme is “Dance like no one is watching”.

I knew the exact picture to enter when I heard the theme! These are two sisters who I had the privilege to photograph dancing while helping another photographer friend shoot a dance recital rehearsal.  They did a “duet” dance together. As the music started they flowed together so beautifully and as people milled around and they were working on lighting and costumes with other dancers these two kept dancing…I love the look on their faces in this shot and how they are looking right into each others eyes and smiling ..completely 100% into their dance and that moment.

This is not the best “technical” photograph but to me it is the most beautiful picture of the human spirit, love and using the gifts,talents and desires that God has given us no matter what the obstacle we face may be! Love it! Check out all of the other great submissions at Rock The Shot
