The Beach

It has been 5 years since we packed up the car and headed to the beach…five long long years. Why is it that we keep ourselves so busy that it seems like an impossible task to stop for a few days and go enjoy ourselves?

Our oldest is 16 and it hit me smack in the face when I realized that my opportunities to vacation with him are quickly coming to an end.  He will have work or school and lets face it…pick a road trip with his buddies over a family vacation with his little sisters and his parents. 🙁

So we stopped everything…even a bathroom remodel and packed the car and headed to sunny Florida to visit some family and the beach! Yay!!

We pulled in just in time to grab some dinner and make it to the beach for our first sunset of the week. I grabbed my camera and we all darted out of the car. I didn’t check my settings… I had no idea what lens I had on… I just started shooting because the sky was amazing!! This is the very first image I captured of our vacation and definitely one of my favorites from the week! A great reminder that sometimes we spend to much time planning and thinking and if we don’t just jump in and act we may miss the beauty of the moment.
